Well sorry for the delay in our blog, it's not like we are the best at keeping up with it but we did have good reason. Our beautiful son was born on Wednesday June 4 at 6:08 pm. He weighed in at 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19.5 in. long. After about an hour of pushing the doctor suggested Amanda have a c-section so we don't put more stress on the baby and about 15 minutes later Jack was born. However, we could sense that things were not normal. As soon as he was given to me they snatched him right back and the nurse bolted out the door with him. I quickly followed her to the very back of the nursery. They said he might have one of three things: premature lung disease(highly unlikely), fluid in the lungs(likely), and a collapsed lung(likely). I had only been a Dad for less than an hour and I was already a stressed out parent. Luckily, we found out that he only had fluid in his lungs and it was very easy to treat. He slowly worked his way off oxygen support and the antibiotics helped him tremendously. Finally on Sunday we took him home at 3 pm. Our little boy gave us a good scare but he's fine now. Just a regular pooping, crying and sleeping machine.
Heres the little guy
