4th of July

This past weekend was filled with many first experiences for Jack. We started out on Friday by taking Jack to his first movie and he loved every minute of Cars 2. The only time he got upset was when I took him out of the movie to go to the bathroom. Have we mentioned that Jack is fully potty trained? He is fully potty trained and it's fantastic, a little stressful at times but still such a good thing!

On Saturday morning, we headed out to Grandbury, TX to spend the weekend with my incredible in-laws. As Jack gets older, packing for trips get easier, except that this time we had to take a potty with us. About an hour before we left I realized, our son is going to have to potty and we might not be near a bathroom. Thankfully we had the potty in the car, because sure enough we had to use it at a rest stop somewhere between our house and Pop's house. Jack had no problems going to the bathroom at a rest stop on the side of the road...go figure.

As soon as we got there the boys left to play some golf, Kris's favorite part of every trip to Grandbury. After dinner we all got ready to head to the pool. Jack loved playing in the pool with Kris, Kate, Kurt and me. It was the first time he's gone swimming with his Uncle Kurt. While at the pool Jack discovered a new favorite game where we get in a circle and toss him back and forth to each other. He LOVED it!!
On Sunday we went to Church where Jack did a great job sitting in "Big Church" with us the entire time. After Church we had a delicious lunch and rested before the big ball game. Sunday night we went to Arlington for Jack's first Texas Rangers game. We were SOOO excited about the Rangers game. We had great seats and had a blast! Jack did so well given the heat, late night and lack of sleep from the busy weekend.

On another note, our 4 yr. anniversary is in a week. I can't believe it's only been 4 years that I've been married to this handsome man. It feels like we've crammed a lot (of blessings) into the last 4 years. Hub, I love you and am soo proud to be married to you. You are the perfect man for this very imperfect woman and one INCREDIBLE daddy to our precious son.

A much needed update. . .

Well it's obviously not Autumn anymore. As someone commented before Jack is getting pretty wrinkly in his oatmeal bath so an update is vastly overdue. Well in our 10 months we haven't posted on here we have hit many milestones.

• We redecorated Jack's room from the grayish purple walls to more appropriate colors for a boy.
• Jack has been talking more and more and now he has a very strong opinion on pretty much everything.
• Jack also sleeps in a toddler bed which will be changed to a big boy bed this summer.
  
• We started potty training and he's got a good grasp on it but we are having more accidents than we would like.
  
• As a result of Jack's first potty poop he now has his first pet a Beta fish that he named Mike.
  
• And we just celebrated his 3rd birthday this past weekend.

Well I'm sure that doesn't cover it all but that's the best I can remember from the past 10 months. Now I'll leave you with some pictures from the past ten months and a video of Jack singing happy birthday to his Mommy since they share the same birthday.

Well the video of Jack singing doesn't seem to be working so I'll try to post it on Facebook or something. Hopefully we will try to blog more and not leave Jack on top of that slide too long.

Quaker bath

This past week our poor sweet boy came down with a little illness. For 3 days he had a low grade fever. On the fourth day he developed a slight rash. He didn't seem to be very uncomfortable but at the end of the night he started scratching his ears pretty bad. So, we decided to give Jack an oatmeal bath. I didn't "google" it first, so all I could think to do was to add Quaker oats to a warm bath. Jack in his oatmeal bath was pretty cute. It did help soothe his itchy skin.

When we first put him in the bath he kept saying "ewww grwoss" but he eventually started playing with the oats.

He enjoyed picking the oats off his body and saying "keen" (clean).

By the end of the bath Jack started trying to EAT the oats. That's when we knew it was time to get him out of the oats bath. It did help to soothe his skin and stop his itching. As of today his rash is gone and he's back to normal.

San Antonio Children's Museum

A few weeks ago Cass and I took the boys to the San Antonio Children's Museum and it was a BLAST! We didn't realize the boys were going to have as much fun as they did. This place is perfect for toddlers. They had so much freedom to play in the "Tot Spot" areas, they LOVED it! Jack and Maverick absolutely love going places together and their mom's do too :)

I realize this picture caused some confusion and I didn't mean for that to happen. As much as we are excited about a second baby Wasemiller it's not happening yet. I'll happily let everyone know when that wonderful day comes :)

At the beginning of the day...

On their own the boys started holding hands while waiting for the bathroom, but of course I missed the candid moment. Cass and I tried to re-create the moment but it didn't work.
Mav loved looking at all the stars. Aren't those curls adorable?!
It was impossible to get a still picture of Jack. Most of his pictures are either partly or entirely blurry. He was pointing to the ball he had just thrown over the wall...go figure.
Mav looked so cute picking up the big cylinder. He's so small I'm sure it weighed just as much as him.
I'm typically paranoid but the joy of this place is it's virtually impossible for the boys to get hurt so Jack can climb and jump on (almost) anything.
They are soo fun to watch. They are still learning how to play with each other but we love watching their friendship develop.

Backyard fun!

Jack has spent a lot of time playing in the backyard. He got a lot of really great summer toys for his birthday which we have definitely enjoyed!

Texas grown

We've been to a few Farmer's Markets this summer. I definitely am not a true "organic mommy" but I definitely LOVE the idea of directly helping someone else put food on their table while putting food on my table. I'm just a mommy trying to give my son a healthy start and a wife who wants to make sure my hubby stays healthy for a VERY, VERY long time.

Here we are at the Pearl Brewery Farmer's Market. Thanks Cas for introducing me to the Pearl Brewery. If you are in the area you must check it out on Saturdays from 9-1.



Cass and I took the boys to a Farmers Market at the beginning of the summer and planned on taking them to the park afterward. Unfortunately, it was raining and very humid (the reason my son's hair is out of control) so the boys just played at Cass and Mav's house for a while. Thanks Cass!
