Quaker bath
This past week our poor sweet boy came down with a little illness. For 3 days he had a low grade fever. On the fourth day he developed a slight rash. He didn't seem to be very uncomfortable but at the end of the night he started scratching his ears pretty bad. So, we decided to give Jack an oatmeal bath. I didn't "google" it first, so all I could think to do was to add Quaker oats to a warm bath. Jack in his oatmeal bath was pretty cute. It did help soothe his itchy skin.
When we first put him in the bath he kept saying "ewww grwoss" but he eventually started playing with the oats.
He enjoyed picking the oats off his body and saying "keen" (clean).
By the end of the bath Jack started trying to EAT the oats. That's when we knew it was time to get him out of the oats bath. It did help to soothe his skin and stop his itching. As of today his rash is gone and he's back to normal.

San Antonio Children's Museum
A few weeks ago Cass and I took the boys to the San Antonio Children's Museum and it was a BLAST! We didn't realize the boys were going to have as much fun as they did. This place is perfect for toddlers. They had so much freedom to play in the "Tot Spot" areas, they LOVED it! Jack and Maverick absolutely love going places together and their mom's do too :)
I realize this picture caused some confusion and I didn't mean for that to happen. As much as we are excited about a second baby Wasemiller it's not happening yet. I'll happily let everyone know when that wonderful day comes :)
At the beginning of the day...

On their own the boys started holding hands while waiting for the bathroom, but of course I missed the candid moment. Cass and I tried to re-create the moment but it didn't work.
Mav loved looking at all the stars. Aren't those curls adorable?!
It was impossible to get a still picture of Jack. Most of his pictures are either partly or entirely blurry. He was pointing to the ball he had just thrown over the wall...go figure.
Mav looked so cute picking up the big cylinder. He's so small I'm sure it weighed just as much as him.
I'm typically paranoid but the joy of this place is it's virtually impossible for the boys to get hurt so Jack can climb and jump on (almost) anything.
They are soo fun to watch. They are still learning how to play with each other but we love watching their friendship develop.
He loves to go down the slide- without help :)
They have no fear! But this places makes it okay!
Jack was memorized by this fish.
They're already best buds!!!

Backyard fun!
Texas grown
We've been to a few Farmer's Markets this summer. I definitely am not a true "organic mommy" but I definitely LOVE the idea of directly helping someone else put food on their table while putting food on my table. I'm just a mommy trying to give my son a healthy start and a wife who wants to make sure my hubby stays healthy for a VERY, VERY long time.
Here we are at the Pearl Brewery Farmer's Market. Thanks Cas for introducing me to the Pearl Brewery. If you are in the area you must check it out on Saturdays from 9-1.

Cass and I took the boys to a Farmers Market at the beginning of the summer and planned on taking them to the park afterward. Unfortunately, it was raining and very humid (the reason my son's hair is out of control) so the boys just played at Cass and Mav's house for a while. Thanks Cass!

Yummycitos!
The day after Jack's party we went to lunch with the family at Pappasitos. Their food is yummy!

These were 2 VERY sad boys, sad to see everyone leave.
Sweet boy knocked out as soon as we got in the car. It was a VERY long weekend for Jack. He loved his party and spending time with family, he still talks about it :)

Wasefiller
Let me catch you up on our summer...
Jack turned 2!!!Thank you, Mama Kay, Pops and Kate for making the trip!!
Jack's favorite aunt!!
Jack loved his cake! He will play basketball (Little Tikes basketball set) ALL day long so we knew exactly what kind of cake and party Jack would recognize and enjoy. The bakery got our last name wrong. We are not the WASEFILLERS!

Jack LOVED hitting the big pinata with a "bat"... we weren't surprised :)
The party ended (six hours after it started) at the pool. It was a fantastic day!

We're in the 'T's"
Today we went by Target to get some diapers and accidentally veered off into the little boy's section. The 18 month outfit Jack had on today was looking a little tight around the edges so we thought while we're here we might as well look. I know it's obvious that after 18 months comes 24 months, but 24 months is a 2T! My son is wearing a 2T!! I can't believe it. I feel like the toddler clothes seriously crept up on me and I wasn't ready for it today. We also bought Jack his swim trunks which are too cute. We are ready for summer time fun! This is one of the shirts we bought him today. When I asked him if he liked the shirt he said, "oohh, yuss"

P.S. Target has some REALLY great stuff right now.

Big boy haircut
Bet you thought I forgot
I have to apologize for my lack of blogging. Here's how my day goes:
6:00 Wake up and get ready
6:45 Wake up Jack and get him dressed
7:05ish Bring him downstairs to get his breakfast and my lunch into our bags
7:25 Wrangle Jack into the garage and get him in the car all the while carrying my purse, his bag, sippy cup, and jackets. Needless to say, Jack is REALLY good at helping mom open the car door and climb into his own car seat.
7:30ish On our way to Mrs. Becky's house.
**truthfully I need to leave the house by 7:25 to get to work on time :) My head counselor is OK with me getting there at 8:05ish.
8:05ish-4:30Work
4:45 I walk in the door to a son that is sometimes more excited to see my keys than he is me. He LOVES my keys. I play with my Jack for a little bit.
5:00 In the kitchen trying to decide what to make for dinner
6:00 Sitting down eating dinner with my boys
6:45 Jack's bath time
7:00 playing with Jack
7:30 Jack goes to bed
The rest of the night is time to clean the kitchen, the living room and do anything else in the house that needs to get done. Ohh and I also like to spend time with hubby.
I realize that my schedule is not as bad as it could be. I only have 1 child and my work hours are not that bad. Except that if you noticed anything in my schedule it's probably that I'm not that great at preparation. I should get our breakfast and lunch together the night before. I should plan my dinners at least a week at a time. I should wake up earlier to get some stuff done around the house...but that's not me. At least not yet. I'm still a work in progress. So, please bare with me and know that even thought I'm not posting I'm thinking "Ohh, I should update the blog".
