A Must Read!

This past Christmas was wonderful for many reasons. One of my favorite gifts this year is the book Kate bought me. I must explain why I was so excited to receive this book. I have come to LOVE Jon and Kate plus eight. On Monday night my typical routine consists of me rushing to get everything done at home in time for me to sit down with a Dr.Pepper and a snack of my choice to watch an uninterrupted episode of my favorite show with my favorite drink. It's my down/alone time. Now let me say, if Jack needs me I will always get up from my favorite show to help. Kris in all his wonderfulness always tries his hardest to give me my time. So, it's been no surprise to us that I can't put the book down. Even if I'm only squeezing in 1-2 pages I have to pick it up and get just a little bit further in my book. It's a must read! Not only is it an incredible story but it's also a powerful testimony to the plan the Lord has for all of us. I highly recommend it. I'm going to squeeze in a few pages before I head to bed. Christmas merriment

Jack's first Christmas was absolutely beautiful. There is no better gift than to be the proud mommy of this sweet baby boy. The night before Christmas, Kris and I were sitting here thinking about where we were last year and how much life has changed. Our entire discussion led to how God has made true his promise to provide for and sustain his children. To say we are thankful would be an understatement. On Christmas morning Jack slept in till 9:15am. Now, usually Jack is up by 8:30 so we thought it would be safe to plan on being at Kris's parents house at 9:30 for breakfast and presents right after. However, come 9:00 he was still asleep. It gave Kris and I a chance to spend some time together and steal a quiet moment. I hope we never stop trying to steal away moments together. Anyhow, by the time Jack woke up we had to leave and didn't have a chance to open his gifts here at the house. We didn't want to rush the fun so we decided Jack would have another Christmas the next day. That's where these adorable pictures come in. Here's Jack's Christmas the day after here at the house. We forgot our camera on Christmas day, but I'll be getting some pictures from Kate soon.

And then there's Christmas Eve. It was such a special day. We went to Kris's parents house where we ate and relaxed with family-just a glimpse of what we would be doing the following day.





















BIG NEWS-Shortly after the picture below was taken Jack started crawling. It was more of a bear crawl/army crawl combo, but nonetheless he's on the move. In the picture Jack was pulling off a bow from a present. After he played with the bow for a little bit he threw it. Jack was so excited that he quickly got on his knees and started moving toward it. We were so excited we forgot to grab the cameras. We would.

Only 3 more days...

Here he is today. Jack's grandpa says, Jack's going to hate these pictures when he gets older. Don't worry though, I know when to stop. He won't be wearing anything to lovey on Valentines. That right Kate, I'm already thinking of the next ones. I have loved these! It's been fun and has made his first Christmas even more
exciting.

4 days till Christmas

Here he is on Sunday counting down the days. He's at such a fun age right now but it's a little difficult to get him to stay still for pictures. Jack's hair is growing so fast right now too. In the bottom left picture you can see his bed head/cow lick "look". Yesterday we tried using warm water and a brush to get it to lay down but it never worked.

A special countdown to Christmas

Kate made Jack these adorable onesies to help us countdown for Christmas. I planned on posting Jack in his new onesie everyday till Christmas, but this weekend we had a lot of unexpected events and I got behind.

sweet, sweet Lilly

To date this is one of the hardest things I've had to post. Recently, Kris and I have been thinking that Lilly hasn't been too happy here with us. This past week at work Kris was talking to Shannon (boss) and showing her some pictures of Jack on his phone. As usual he also had some pictures of Lilly on his phone too. When Shannon saw Lilly she said, "is that a HARLEQUIN GREAT DANE?!" Kris, said, yes and then started the conversation about our sweet puppy. Long story short we dropped Lilly off at her new home today. As I sit here crying I am reminded of how much I am going to miss her. We are both wholeheartedly convinced Lilly is going to be much happier. She now has an 8 year old little boy who only wants to be her best friend, 3 new doggie friends and a huge backyard with a pool(perfect water bowl) for her. Shannon and her family fell in LOVE with Lilly instantly. The most important reason we are okay with this as I wipe away tears is that we have been praying and praying about this exact moment for some time now. I know there's a little boy who will be blessed by that little puppy. Tomorrow we'll be taking all of her stuff over to her new home where she is at tonight.

Vacation time

Today was my last day before my 2 week vacation starts on Monday. It's started off a little slow. Every year without fail I get sick at this time of year. It's never a cold or flu, it's always sinus/allergy stuff. Yesterday I found out I have a sinus infection in my face. It's a yucky feeling, but 1 steroid shot and a Z-Pack later I feel tons better. I will be doing some work over these next two weeks, but no where near 10 hr. days. We are excited! Today Jack took a 2 hr. nap on me while I relaxed and did NOTHING. It was wonderful. Tomorrow we are going on a triple date with Kate and her boyfriend and Kurt and Abbie. I am really looking forward to it for a couple of reasons 1. We're going to the Homeplace and I've never been 2. I get to meet Abbie 3. Kris and I really need a date. Be excited about tomorrow's pictures. Kate made some ADORABLE onesies for Jack.

We're back!

Things have been pretty busy around the Wasemiller house. I'm pretty sure I worked close to 50 hrs. last week which is not normal. It's a good thing I love my job! It makes it hard though when I miss little moments with my monkey. That's what made this past weekend so great. The boys and I stayed home all weekend lounging around. We set up the tree, moved some furniture around(thanks to a very comfy leather recliner Kris's grandpa gave us) and did some decorating. That's right, we've been here since May and I'm still trying to finish decorating the house:) In all, life is pretty great. We've been blessed with an adorably funny, healthy and active little boy. What more could we ask for?!

Today Jack got an early Christmas gift from Mama Kitty and Grandpa. At the beginning his favorite part was the 2 toys.

Then he figured out what he was capable of and LOVED it!

Jack got to hang out with his Uncle Kurt a lot this past weekend. Uncle Kurt is giving the thumbs up because Jack started using his sippie cup recently:) This was the first time Jack held the cup with both hands. He's been doing pretty good, he only holds the handles when he wants to. I'm going to take a moment to plug Avent, I have LOVED using their line. The best part is everything is interchangeable. To get Jack comfortable with the handles I put them on his bottles at first, then to get him used to a sippie cup I put his bottle nipple on the sippie cup first. Now, we can use everything all together. I love it!

We decorated! I've always loved the way Christmas trees add to the warmth of a home. I love this time of year.

Can you tell how hard he was partying? Kris's parents got Jack this shirt while they were in Hawaii this summer enjoying Kate's graduation gift.

Here we are on our 1/2 birthday. On Dec. 4 at 5:59pm I turned 24 1/2 and at 6:08pm Jack turned 6 months. He's such a big boy! I can't believe it's only been 6 months, it feels like it's been much longer. I can't even find words to describe my love for this little blessing.

Jack is notorious for fighting his sleep. He'll go and go until he can't take it anymore, no matter where he is or what's under his leg.

Jack started sitting up unsupported at 5 months. We're proud parents.
