Already a memorable year. . .

This past New Year's was probably the most memorable so far from going to Ft. Worth to going to the hospital and back to Abilene in less than 24 hours. We arrived at our friends Heather and Dave's house at 3 in the afternoon and began to visit and play with Jack. When it came time to eat Kris said he had been feeling a little funny and didn't know how much he would be able to eat; really when Kris doesn't get excited about any meal something is really wrong. He didn't eat but a couple of bites and decided he should go lay down for a while. Around 7:30 was the first time he got sick in the bathroom and long story short it continued until 2009! No really it was about 12:30 when he said that he might need to go to the hospital. Even though this was what we really did not want to do, he couldn't hold anything down not even water, we had no choice. We got to North Hills Hospital at 1 a.m. and were led into the smallest hospital room we have ever been in. It took about 3 more hours for the nurses to get Kris an IV and fluids. Needless to say they were pretty busy being it was New Year's Eve so there were many stories that Heather can share with you-I'll leave that to her and won't ever try. Turns out Kris was really dehydrated and the nurse had trouble finding a vein for the IV so he had lots of fun getting stuck multiple times. It was all a nightmare. We didn't leave until 6:30 in the morning and did nothing but sleep. Kris's parents drove in to help us come back to Abilene which was nice cause we did not want anyone else to get sick. It was only a 24 hour stomach flu but everyone should be careful because apparently it is going around.

Jack updates coming soon: he's getting the hang of crawling, he says what sounds like "Dad" and "Jack", he's starting to imitate us laughing with a couple of "HA HA HA". We will try to post some new videos later this week. I'll end this post with a picture of Kris's graduation gift. It was unveiled this weekend and took 3 years to fully restore. We are very excited about spending time in our weekend car.
